Approach to James Bond Island

James Bond Island

On the 2nd day of our trip to Phuket, we planned to go to James Bond Island. I had seen the movie “The Man with the Golden Gun” and was very excited. Though I did not know what I would get to see.

We were booked along with a group of tourists. Early in the morning, a Toyota Van came to pick us up.

He took us to a place where we boarded a big bus. The guide told us that his name was James Don. We drove for about 1 hour across the Phuket Island. The scenery was mesmerising.

Driving around Phuket

Our bus stopped after 1 hour and we were at a Pagoda. This was the Pagoda of the Sleeping Buddha. It was a huge statue.

After that we got into the bus once again and drove for another 15 minutes to reach the sea once again.

Here we were transferred to a boat.

Island Hopping

Soon, we were in the sea passing by a number of Islands. But none of them were the James Bond Island.

Lunch in the Sea

After about 1 hours, our boat pulled up a huge restaurant in the sea. There was a series of houses in the sea.

After having lunch, we were once again in the boat. This time we were passing through more exotic Islands.

We had moved to the roof of the boat.

Driving below an Island

Soon we came to an Island which had an opening and we could see the Sea passing through it. It was breathtaking. Soon, we found our boat moving towards the opening. And then we drove right under the Island.

Still no James Bond Island

On coming out from under the Island, we came an exotic spot. But still no James Bond Island.

Approaching James Bond Island

As we enquired with our Guide, he told us that we would soon be reaching James Bond Island. However, we could only see that we were approaching a Beach. We soon were at the Beach and we alighted from the boat.

We still could not see the James Bond Island.

We walked across from the Beach to the other side of this Island.
