Ko Chang

We had been to many beaches in Thailand. We first went to Pattaya. Then we stayed in Rayong, Ko Samet, Ko Samui, Phuket, Hua Hin, etc. All these beaches are extremely good and we really enjoyed our stay. However, we wanted to go to a place which was very isolated and free for a large crowd.

After doing a bit of research, we found that Ko Chang could be what we were looking for. Ko Chang is the far east of Thailand.

We took a public transport – a Mercedes Bus – from Bangkok. The bus started in the evening and after travelling the night, we reach Trat in the morning. From Trat, we took a boat to reach Ko Chang.

Chang means Elephant in Thai language. And Koh or Ko means Island. So, Ko Chang means Elephant Island or very big island. Ko Chang is the biggest island in Thailand.

There is very little population in this part of Thailand. Also, the number of tourists were very few.

There was a hill overlooking the beach.

We booked a cottage by the beach.

The sea is crystal clear here. Also, there is not much activities like water sports, etc here. So, the place is very calm.

We had a lot of beer during the day and enjoyed our time in the sea. In the night, we had wonderful and delicious sea food and Thai food along with whisky.
